Program Summary

How often have you said, “I just want to be happy”?

But do you even know what would truly make you happy?

Many people don’t. We imagine that we know -- and we may pursue love, success, wealth, certain experiences, or status in the belief that achieving these things will bring us the contentment we desire. But in truth, research tells us that happiness lies not in what we do or don’t do, but in how satisfied we are with our lives.

Most people know that a happy life is not necessarily one without problems. But what they don’t always realize is that happiness isn’t a future state to be attained, but instead can be found within at any time.

In this coaching program, your clients will learn how to challenge the thinking, limiting beliefs, and behaviors that prevent them from experiencing happiness in the moment.

During this coaching program, your clients will discover:

  • What actually makes them happy (often, it’s not what they think)
  • The barriers to happiness that they erect unconsciously
  • How to choose happiness, regardless of their circumstances
  • The 4 types of behaviors that can drain happiness from their lives

  • How to intentionally cultivate happiness by eliminating negative thoughts and fostering positives ones
  • The 12 major Therapeutic Lifestyle Changes (TLCs) that can directly affect their level of happiness
  • 2 powerful practices to help them sustain happiness through difficult times

Program Contents

SESSION 1
Insights: What Happiness Means to You

  • Activity: Client explores what happiness means to them by answering powerful questions
  • Activity: Through a fun exercise, client reflects on what makes them happy
  • Homework: “I’m noticing I’m happy when…”


SESSION 2
Vision: Moving Away From Happiness

  • Pre-work: “Causes of Unhappiness.”
  • Activity: Conduct thought-provoking activity to further explore unhappiness, and answering powerful questions to deepen learning
  • Homework: “Changing One Cause of My Unhappiness”


SESSION 3
Options: Moving Towards Happiness

  • Pre-work: Positivity Exercise
  • Activity: Introduce client to TLC’s (Therapeutic Lifestyle Changes) and relate concept back to pre-work assignment
  • Activity: Client deepens their learning around TLC’s and identifies which TLC’s in their lives requires their attention
  • Homework: “Incorporating More TLCs into My Life”


SESSION 4
Actions: Continuing a Lifetime of Happiness  

  • Client explores how to cultivate happiness going forward by answering powerful questions to clarify their intention
  • Homework: “Empty Jar”
